Meet Emily

I approach therapy with warmth, authenticity, and a deep commitment to creating a safe and supportive space for my clients. My practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, blending psychodynamic therapy, humanistic techniques, and narrative therapy to help clients explore their stories and uncover their inner resilience. I believe healing isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about understanding yourself, embracing growth, and finding meaningful ways to move forward.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, ADHD, and neurodiversity, tailoring each session to meet their unique needs. I understand the unique challenges and strengths that come with being neurodivergent, and I offer a space where clients can explore their identities, develop strategies that work for them, and feel truly understood. No matter where you are in your journey, my goal is to be a steady, compassionate presence, helping you navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence.


Outside of therapy, I’m a creative soul with a love for art, embroidery, and cross-stitch. I’m also an avid gamer, often unwinding with cozy games like The Sims 4 and Stardew Valley. When I’m not working or creating, you’ll likely find me caring for my houseplants, spending time with my fiancé, Matt and my Labradoodle, Harlow, or enjoying a quiet moment with a good book.

Lighting the Way: The Story Behind Lightkeeper Counselling

From a young age, I was drawn to understanding people—their struggles, emotions, and resilience. Before becoming a therapist, I spent seven years as a case manager in addiction recovery housing programs, supporting individuals facing some of life’s toughest challenges. Through that experience, I witnessed firsthand the power of compassionate, client-centered care and the importance of creating a safe space where people feel truly seen and heard.

Becoming a therapist was a natural next step. I wanted to offer more than just crisis management—I wanted to help people heal, grow, and rediscover their inner strength. That’s why I pursued my Master's in Counselling Psychology and developed a therapeutic approach that blends psychodynamic principles, humanistic techniques, and trauma-informed care.

I founded Lightkeeper Counselling because I believe therapy should be a guiding light in life’s stormy seas. My practice is built on the idea that even in the darkest moments, there is always a path forward.
